That’s exactly what Portland export Rowan Marshall did on Saturday for VFL club North Ballarat Roosters.
Marshall put North Ballarat in front in the dying stages of their clash against Coburg, helping the Roosters to a 12.9 (81) to 11.9 (75) triumph in new coach Marc Grieg’s first game in charge.
The North Ballarat Rebels graduate was named best-on-ground for his efforts in the ruck in the absence of former AFL-listed tall Orren Stephenson.
He gathered 19 disposals, had 20 hit-outs and took five marks.
Marshall is in his second season at the Roosters and is determined to cement a spot after cobbling together five matches in 2015.
