A HEYWOOD sheep farmer is about $6000 out of pocket after a stud ram, a ewe and two lambs were shot dead in the past month.
Senior Constable Mick Aitken, of Heywood police, said the stock was believed to have been shot in two separate incidents at a property off Golf Course Road.
“It’s probably spotlighters. We generally don’t have trouble with shooters in this area,” he said.
“Shooters need to be aware they need the permission of landowners before shooting on or over properties.”
Anyone with information should contact the Heywood police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
