A 13-YEAR-OLD boy who stole a car because he was bored has been bailed.
The boy, who cannot be named because he is under 18 years, was remanded on Saturday night by a bail justice and applied for bail in the Children’s Court this week.
The court heard the boy and a co-accused stole a car from a family services provider where they were living.
They returned in the vehicle and a carer parked a private car behind in an attempt to block them in but the boys continued to drive the car, causing about $2000 damage to the car.
The magistrate said staff at the facility were under an incredible burden.
He said it seemed people under orders were entitled to do what they liked until police turned up.
The accused boy, who is on four probation orders, pleaded guilty to the theft charges.
He is scheduled to reappear in court on November 8 for sentencing.
