PORT Fairy’s most exclusive residential house is on the market.
The Breakers, overlooking South Beach, is for sale by expressions of interest.
Agent Paul Ross from Robertson Real Estate described the home as impressive in terms of its location, size and views.
“It would be the most prestigious property in Port Fairy,” Mr Ross said.
“You’re never going to get anything like it again.”
The house was listed by Robertsons and Melbourne-based agent Abercrombys late last week and has attracted interest with one inspection conducted yesterday.
It was previously on the market five years ago but Mr Ross said “extenuating circumstances” after the contract was signed meant the property remained in the hands of its original owner.
Built in 2001, The Breakers became the subject of a community debate as it was developed on the only small parcel of freehold land available on the beach side of Ocean Drive.
Sheltered in the dunes above Pea Soup Beach, the luxurious residence features a huge central living area, a study, library, four bedrooms, guest quarters, four bathrooms, a double-garage, wine cellar, private courtyard and enclosed sunroom.
Expressions of interest in the property, which is expected to fetch several million dollars, close on October 30.
