VicRoads and Public Transport Victoria have been gathering information about the condition of the road in recent weeks.
A spokesman for Public Transport Victoria said the authority had been in contact with the bus driver.
“PTV assisted VicRoads in this matter,” he said.
“The school bus operator said they that in order to improve safely along the road, they would like to see the road sealed for two lanes between Dunns Road and Hamilton-Port Fairy Road.
“This feedback has been provided to the VicRoads planning team.”
South West Coast MP Roma Britnell has taken up the issue meeting with concerned parents earlier this month.
She accused the state government of reneging the Coalition’s $2.6 million commitment to repair the road.
“Roads in this south-west region of Victoria are considered the most distressed in all Victoria, according to VicRoads’ own data,” she said.
“The Myamyn-Macarthur Road is considered one of the worst of those.”
