A BRILLIANT all-round showing from Rehan Hassan has lifted Dennington to a strong position after day one of its game against Nirranda. Rassan took 2-0 to help bowl the Knights out for 60. Steven Wythe took 4-19 while youngster Damon Cooper offered the only real resistance with the bat making 23.

Rehan then followed up his form with the ball at the batting crease, compiling an unbeaten 102 as the Dogs posted 2-157. He received solid support from Harry Rantall (30) at the top of the order and captain Jamie Fogarty (15 not out) in the shadows of stumps. It was Rehan’s first century since arriving from England at the start of the season. Dennington will take a 97-run lead into day two with of an outright victory looming large.
