Family, business and sporting teams were represented as well as Brauer, Kings and Emmanuel College’s who entered teams to show their support and raise money and cancer awareness.
The first lap of the oval, led by Warrnambool and District Pipes and Drums Band, was completed by carers and survivors, followed by the rest of the relay participants.
The moving candlelight ceremony was held, with candles lit for those fighting the disease, survivors and loved ones lost.
Relay for Life concludes at 1pm on Saturday.
