This photo, provided by the Warrnambool and District Historical Society, shows the J.S Stanley Common School.
The school was located in Spence Street, Warrnambool during the 1800s.
It was established in 1879 where Mr Stanley was a teacher.
Mr Stanley was remembered as a brilliant scholar.
He taught Latin and Greek as part of extracurricular activities.
The school is now commonly known as Warrnambool College, which still operates today and has more than 1000 students.
