Green coach Pam Davis said after mistakes in the second and third quarters, her side lifted late to pull away and win 45-29.
“In the fourth quarter, the girls really got their act together,” she said.
“We had a chat at three-quarter-time and … I said go out, go back to basics.
“In saying that, Warrnambool City had a very good third quarter and their defensive pressure caused quite a lot of (errors).
“I think the inclusion of Olivia Niddrie in the midcourt helped.
“Our two goalies Molly Hutt and Nell Mitchell finished off the work in goals. They’re a pretty formidable combination.”
Hampden White defeated Camperdown Night 46-41 and Hampden Red beat WDFNL 54-26.
