But the exceptional purity of the MDMA could make the street value greater than that amount.
Police are waiting on a test result.
Marcus Clifton, 46, of Avonmore Avenue, was refused bail in December and remanded in custody until March 23 when a committal hearing is scheduled. He applied for bail again during the week.
Magistrate John Lesser denied the bail application, saying there were no exceptional circumstances which would allow Mr Clifton to be released.
On December 2 police executed a search warrant at Mr Clifton's home and found an unregistered .22 calibre rifle, ammunition and a silencer.
Police seized 440 grams of what is believed to be extremely high-quality ecstasy.
Also located were four cans of pepper spray, an extendable baton, three tasers, prescription medication, a pill press and ecstasy in a PVC pipe and fake soft drink cans.
There was also a substantial amount of a caffeine-based substance which could have been used as a cutting agent.
Mr Clifton admitted he was a recreational drug user, but claimed the items found belonged to his girlfriend.
He said he had been in a relationship with the woman for 18 months and she was a former prostitute who liked kinky sex.
Police said a woman who had provided information to police had moved from Portland and was fearful of her safety if Mr Clifton was released from custody.
Detective Senior Constable Jarrod Anderson, of the Portland police Crime Investigation Unit, said Mr Clifton also made full admissions to a burglary involving a safe containing $40,000 in December 2014.
He said the safe had been recovered.
Police allege Mr Clifton told them he used the cash to pay solicitors' fees. He is to be charged with burglary and theft.
Police also alleged that on Saturday, November 23, Mr Clifton was at home drinking bourbon with his girlfriend.
He repeatedly burnt her on the arm with a cigarette and punched her.
Mr Clifton put his arms around her throat and squeezed. She said couldn't breathe and felt her eyes popping out of her head.
