Warrnambool Central Rotary Club has organised a a Men’s Health Awareness night, which will feature local health professionals speaking about health issues.
The club’s spokesman Stu Bethune said as well as Mr Parkin, an oncologist, urologist, bowl cancer specialist, physio therapist, representatives from beyondblue and the chairman of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia Jim Hughes.
Mr Bethune said women were also welcome as well.
“It’s about getting people to recognise early signs of illness,” he said.
“For many men, it’s the nudge from their wife that gets them to go to a doctor, it’s really important they can recognise changes as well.”
The night will be held at the Old Collegians Clubrooms from 6.30pm on March 2. Bookings are essential and can be made by calling Mr Bethune on 0417 156 659.
