Jeremy Blair, who had gone missing about 2pm on Wednesday, was found in Coburg shortly after 9pm.
Police had launched a public appeal for help to find him, fearing he was headed to the city on public transport because he likes trains and had taken his Myki card with him.
A police spokesman later confirmed Jeremy had been found "safe and well".
