From ice-cream to lemon and sugar or a generous slathering of maple syrup, the school community was given a tasty start to the day thanks to its parents group, which cooked up more than 650 pancakes at the event.
Our Lady Help of Christians parents and friends association member Katie Colla said the early morning breakfast was a chance to come together.
“We just find that it’s a great way to start the year. It’s a great time to get everyone together and we have great support from the staff as well,” she said.
“We’ve cooked just over 650 pancakes today so an early start but a great morning for everyone.”
Pancake Day was celebrated at schools, churches and community events across the south-west on Tuesday.
The Anglican Parish of Warrnambool held a pancake night with sweet and savoury options and the Uniting Church was flipping for a good cause with money raised at its Pancake Day event going to Unitingcare.
The event traditionally marks the start of Lent.
