Chief executive officer Trevor Matheson led the charge with staff members Mark Powell and Brad Smith and former staff member John Oxford joining forces for the fund-raiser. A last minute addition was patient Leigh Doak, who made his own donation to the hospital’s Relay For Life team to take part.
Hairdressers Brock McEwan-Hill and Mardi Robertson, from Men Only, made short work of the shave, which raised more than $1000. St John of God Hospital staff member Ross Levett will add to that total when he gets his head shaved at the Relay For Life event on Friday.
Mr Matheson said it was the fifth year he had shaved for the cause and the first time Warrnambool’s St John of God had been involved in the Relay For Life head shave.
The St John of God Warrnambool team will join about 35 other teams taking part in Warrnambool’s Relay For Life at Deakin Universoty on Friday night.
The event begins with an opening ceremony at 6.30pm and teams of fund-raisers will continue walking around the oval until lunchtime Saturday.
