Boschen won the event last year and will have to fight off a strong field if he wants to go back-to-back.
Among those looking to knock Boschen off will be three-time champion Chris Dunn.
Dunn won the title in 2011, 2013-14, a run that included hitting a course record 67 during a round in his 2013 win.
Dunn did not compete last year.
Port Fairy Golf Club head greenskeeper Troy Richardson is also rated a strong chance, his knowledge of the course such to come in handy.
The championship is open to club members with 90 competitors to take part.
The championship will be held over four rounds, starting on Saturday and continuing on for the next two Saturdays and then the final day on Sunday in three weeks time.
