TIMBOON Recreation Reserve president Darren Smith was left to clean up yesterday after thieves trashed the community facility.
The damage was one incident police are investigating after a spate of burglaries across the south-west.
On Sunday night, both the Timboon Recreation Reserve and Corangamite Shire Council depot on Curdies River Road were broken into.
A chainsaw and cans of soft drink were stolen from the depot . Frozen food and alcohol were stolen from the recreation reserve.
Timboon police said it was believed the burglaries happened between 10pm Sunday and 6am yesterday.
Mr Smith said he was disappointed by the damage and waste.
"It's putting it nicely to say I'm extremely disappointed," he said.
"The amount of volunteers and man hours put in and then to have just this damage and waste.
"They've trashed the joint. They've damaged three or four doors and there is mess everywhere.
"If anyone knows anything please call the police."
Terang police are investigating a break-in at Bushman Tanks on Peterborough Road in Terang. It's believed the incident happened about1.30am yesterday.
Warrnambool police were yesterday called to investigate vandalism at Warrnambool Rowing Club .
