Smith, 18, has previously played at South Warrnambool.
She will divide her time between playing for the Bloods and pursuing her Victorian Netball League (VNL) career with the Ballarat Sovereigns.
Smith will line up for the Sovereigns under 19s after a successful debut season with the team last year.
The Sovereigns made it through to the preliminary final in 2015 and Smith said she is excited about returning.
“I have had a good break over the summer so I am really looking forward to getting back to training and catching up with the girls in Ballarat,” Smith said.
“I will travel up to Ballarat a couple of times a week to train and then to Melbourne once a week to play.”
Smith is undertaking a gap year and will live and work in Warrnambool.
She found her way to the Bloods through her friendship with Terang Mortlake coach Aimee Arundell.
“I played some netball with Hampden with Aimee and she understands that I may miss some training or games with my VNL commitments,” Smith said.
“I am excited about playing with Terang Mortlake, it should be a great season.”
