Hamilton skate park redesign input sought

SOUTHERN Grampians Shire Council is inviting keen skateboarders, scooter and BMX riders to have a say on a new skate park design.

The session will be the first stage of planning for a new skate facility in Hamilton.

The current skate park was built in the mid ’90s and it is time to refresh and update the equipment, according to council.

Southern Grampians recreation manager Jason Thomas encouraged users to come along to the design session and have an input into the new design.

Once the design is complete council will apply for external funding and if successful construction would begin in 2014.

The new park is proposed to be rebuilt in its current location next to Lake Hamilton.

The design session is on Wednesday, October 10 from 4.30pm at the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre.
