The annual New Year’s Eve on The Hill event was a sell-out with the village green packed with families enjoying a relaxed end to 2015.
The evening featured live music, a popular children’s disco and two fireworks shows from the top of the hill, a family friendly display at 9.30pm, and a second to cap off the evening at midnight.
Pyrotechnician Ryan Golightly had the best view of the night, atop the garrison. He said both shows would last seven minutes.
“Because of the fire risk, we are using the low level fireworks, so they won’t go to high,” he said.
Meanwhile, thousands of people lined the streets of Port Fairy’s CBD for the annual Moyneyana Festival street parade.
The family friendly event was capped off with fireworks at midnight.
