IT’S time to pull out the good china, put the kettle on and think pink this October for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Registrations for the 2012 Pink Ribbon Breakfast have opened and south-west residents are being urged to host an event.
The region has raised about $13,500 over the past five years, according to foundation CEO Carole Renouf.
“I congratulate south-west residents who have previously hosted a breakfast and I ask them once again to get involved and help bring us one step closer to zero deaths from breast cancer,” Ms Renouf said.
“Over the past 18 years since the foundation was established, research has transformed the experience of women with breast cancer. We now have access to earlier detection and more effective and targeted treatments.
“The next frontier is no more deaths and that’s where the funds raised through the Pink Ribbon Breakfast come in.”
As part of national breast cancer awareness month, a morning tea will be held on October 26 in the Grimwade Rooms at the Lismore Health Centre.
