Leishman had a disappointing opening at the Australian Golf Club in Sydney, recording a first round score of two over 73.
That performance leaves Leishman seven shots off the lead. Leishman had an inconsistent round with four bogeys and two birdies. Fellow Australian Lincoln Tighe shot a five under 66 to lead the field.
