This year’s new activity, “The Big Dig”, will add to the school fete’s usual attractions of prize jars, a rock-climbing wall, pony rides, laser tag, an animal nursery, a live auction and musical performances from students.

Fair-goers can buy a ticket to dig up prizes, with just a minute to uncover their treasure. 

Major prizes will be separated into six rounds of age categories, including a Razor scooter, board games, headphones, dining and accommodation vouchers, and tickets to see Guy Sebastian in Warrnambool.

Fair committee member Brydie Greene said for the first time the school had opened the fair to external market stalls, bringing in some of the region’s best food and produce, including Timboon Ice-cream, The Crepe Man, and the Spud Box.

“The tradition of the King’s College fair, as much as it is a fundraiser, is about bringing together our community,” she said.

“It’s a great family day and people look forward to it for a long time. The whole school gets involved - every class, teacher, and lots of parents.

“This year the SES will again be returning to do a live demonstration of some of the valuable support they provide the community when unfortunate circumstances arise.”

The fair runs from 10am to 2pm.
