Cobden police Sergeant Heather Morris said a wallet was suspected of being stolen from a vehicle in Simpson between Sunday, November 15, and Wednesday, November 18.
A bank card in the wallet was used at eight times for local and internet purchases to the value of about $1000.
Those transactions all happened on Wednesday, November 18.
Anyone with information about the theft of the wallet or the use of the bank card is requested to contact the Cobden police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
