Club co-ordinator Jenny Elz said the funding would allow the club to introduce a ‘come and try’ program for local primary students, with the money going towards new hockey sticks, shin guards, a junior goalie kit and trolley bag.
Local Holden dealer Steve Callaghan said clubs like the Mariners were the reason the program was created.
“Local sporting clubs play a really important role within their communities and we are thrilled to help invest in their futures,” he said.
