A KIRKSTALL man who slammed his former partner's head into a steering wheel after she tried to help him will serve more time in jail.

Billy-Jo Brian Heard, 36, of Kelly Road, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to aggravated assault of a woman, driving while disqualified, theft from a car, careless driving and committing an offence while on bail.
He is already serving one month in jail and received an additional two months behind bars.
Heard's release date is scheduled for February 12.
He will then undertake a community corrections order with conditions he complete 200 hours of community work and assessment and treatment as required.
He was already serving a community corrections order but had only completed three hours of work.
Heard will return to court for judicial monitoring on March 21.
Police said Heard was driving along Korongah North Road at Rosebrook on November 4 after taking his brother's car without permission.
He lost control of the vehicle and collided with a farm fence, rendering the car inoperable.
Heard then rang his former partner about 30 times, requesting she help him.
When she arrived with her two children in the car, Heard demanded the keys.
The woman refused. fearing Heard would leave the scene with her children in the vehicle.
Heard grabbed the woman's hair and slammed her head into the steering wheel, pulling out some of her hair.
The key broke and Heard took part of it.
Police were called and Heard was arrested.
In other crime news, Cobden police on Thursday reported a bank card stolen in Simpson was used eight times.
Sergeant Heather Morris said a wallet was stolen from a vehicle in Simpson between Sunday, November 15 and Wednesday, November 18.
A bank card in the wallet was used for local and internet purchases to the value of about $1000.
