There were some sore legs and sunburn following the walk on Saturday, regional manager for Salvo Connect Western Lindsay Stow said the inaugural south-west Walking Home Walk For Homelessness was worth it.
“Essentially it’s a public awareness-raising exercise to remind people and highlight the fact that homelessness exists in our community, because a lot of people don’t see it or think about it much,” Mr Stow said.
About 40 people crossed the finish line at Lake Pertobe, where they were welcomed by more than 150 people, with more expected to take part next year.
