Kim Jamieson will lead the Cats while the Bombers have selected Nadine McNamara as their coach.
Jamieson will be a non-playing coach at Allansford and joins her daughter and star goal shooter Steph Jamieson at the club.
McNamara will be a playing coach at Cobden and comes across from Colac and District league club South Colac where she played in a premiership in 2015.
Steph Jamieson will be an assistant coach to her mother at A1 level while the Cats 2015 A-grade coach Sarah Neeson will stay on as a player and assistant coach for Allansford’s top team.
Kim Jamieson brings plenty of experience to the role having spent the last two seasons coaching Deakin University.
Prior to that she coached Timboon Demons for five seasons with a year coaching Terang Mortlake’s under-17s team.
Jamieson is thrilled that Allansford will be the next step in her netball journey.
“Allansford approached me to take on the coaching job and it is a great fit for me,” Jamieson said.
“Obviously family is a big part of it, myself and Steph have always been very close and it was hard not being able to watch her play.
“We are both excited this opportunity has come up and we are looking forward to a good year ahead.”
Allansford is yet to win an A grade premiership but made significant advances towards that lofty goal in 2015.
For the first time since 2002, Allansford made it to the finals, finishing fourth after the home-and-away season with 12 wins and six losses.
This included a barnstorming second half of the season with the Cats winning eight of the last nine games.
This form had them touted as a genuine premiership threat heading into the finals despite not having a double chance.
Allansford lived up to this hype in the elimination final, defeating Timboon Demons by 16 goals.
This form continued into the first semi-final where they came from behind to beat Kolora-Noorat by 10 goals.
But the charge to glory came to an end in the preliminary final, going down to eventual premiers Dennington by four goals.
Jamieson is still unsure of player ins and outs for 2016 but is confident the Cats will retain the team that took it to finals this year.
Cobden netball co-ordinator Helene Myers said the Bombers are thrilled to have McNamara on board.
“South Colac lost three grand finals in a row so getting a premiership this year means Nadine has ticked that box and is now keen to step up to the Hampden league,” Myers said.
“She is looking forward to working with the juniors at the club.”
McNamara replaces Tarryn Hill who lead the Bombers to three wins and eighth place on the ladder in 2015.
Obviously family is a big part of it, myself and Steph have always been very close.
