Junior squad co-ordinator Tim Rantall said more than 70 sides would contest the two-day competition, to be run on eight courts at four venues across Warrnambool.
Rantall said the association was rapt to have strong Mermaids presence at the tournament.
“We have a few more girls sides competing,” he said.
“A lot of hard work has been done by Kate Sewell through Aussie Hoops.
“We have two under 12, two under 14, two under 16 and one under 18 girls’ sides – that’s a lot more than we normally have.”
Finals are at the Arc on Sunday afternoon.
