WARRNAMBOOL bodybuilder Benson Milgate has returned to competition with a bang.
Milgate, 25, won the International Natural Bodybuilding Association (INBA) Victorian title on Saturday and booked his spot at the Australian titles on October 7.
The 93-kilogram Milgate, who also won the INBA Victorian class two over 180 centimetres tall category, said he hadn’t competed for four years.
“I wanted to make big improvements and come back and make an impact,” he said.
“I have a passion for it and I really enjoy it.”
Milgate went on a diet for 20 weeks in the lead-up to the competition, having started at 110kg.
He trains every day, focusing on weights and cardio.
Milgate is eager to perform well at the Australian titles, where he expects the competition to be fierce.
“I’m pretty confident,” he said.
“I need to fix a few things. The Australian titles are always pretty busy.”
Benson will compete in the Australian Natural Bodybuilding Victorian competition in two weeks’ time in the over 90kg category in preparation for his national title tilt.
