Festival co-ordinator Barbara Cowley said the event was a real celebration.
“It was just simply wonderful. There were lots of people, glorious sunshine and lots of happy smiling faces” she said.
The event cast off with a fishing competition at Lake Cobden on Friday evening before thousands converged for Saturday’s ever-popular street parade.
The theme was anniversaries and celebrations and feature a parade of “Heytesbury sons”, World War I veterans, represented by relatives, who returned home to help settle the Cobden/Heytesbury district .
