Jason Lee Clark, 40, of Warrumyea Road, was released on almost identical conditions until Tuesday next week when he is expected to plead guilty to a number of offences.
Constable Ashley Witham previously told Warrnambool Magistrates Court that Mr Clark and another man had chased an alleged victim in a vehicle on May 4.
The court heard Mr Clark was holding an axe handle and making threatening gestures.
The pair were involved in a disagreement with the other man over chopping firewood in the Framlingham forest.
Constable Witham told the court Mr Clark approached the man at a supermarket two days later, asking him why he was being smart and threatening to stab him.
In the long-running matter, Mr Clark appeared before magistrate Ron Saines twice and was given sentencing indications involving significant jail terms.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Sandra Skilton said Mr Clark was released on bail on May 15 with strict conditions – including that he report to police three times a week, obey an overnight curfew, present when requested by police and not leave Victoria.
Mr Clark attended detoxification and rehabilitation centres but only lasted six days before leaving.
He was not welcome back after he returned a positive drug screen.
Mr Clark did not notify police that he left the centre and he has also failed to comply with a community corrections order since May.
He has been charged with nine counts of breaching bail conditions.
Senior Constable Lee Stewart said Mr Clark had failed to present himself three times during his overnight curfew and had failed to report to police.
Mr Clark's sister in-law-said he left the rehab centre because his mother was gravely ill and he had been "up and down" due to family issues.
Magistrate John Lesser said Mr Clark had disregarded his bail conditions, he was never there when police checked and the accused did not make the rules in relation to bail.
Mr Lesser expected the matters would be finalised next Tuesday.
He put in place a stricter overnight curfew before again releasing Mr Clark on bail.
