The Kolora-Noorat and Terang Mortlake export collected his award at the Copeland Trophy presentation at Crown Palladium on Friday night after a strong season in the Pies’ midfield.
Moloney played 19 games and led the Magpies in disposals, contested possessions, tackles and clearances.
“I’ve been here for three years now and I’ve already signed on again, I’m going on again, that’s how much I love the place,” he said in his victory speech.
“My mum and dad, they travel three hours to every game and back. They haven’t missed a game pretty much in three years.”
Moloney was the only VFL-listed player in the top six, with AFL-aligned teammates, including South Warrnambool’s Sam Dwyer, among the votes. Moloney polled 83 – eight clear of runner-up Jonathon Marsh.
