TIMBOON Taipans will endeavour to break their Country Basketball League drought when they host Stawell Warriors in the 2015-16 season-opener on Saturday night. The Taipans went winless in their south-west conference debut season but are hoping experienced guard Jarryd Watene can help them make progress after stepping up as coach. Watene is coming off a Big V championship grade title with Corio Bay Stingrays. Tip off is at 7pm.
