A man being extradited is being held in the Warrnambool police station cells.
Barry William Johnson, 67, of no fixed address, appeared in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court and an extradition order was granted for him to appear in the Shepparton Magistrates Court on Monday.
He has been charged by Shepparton police detectives with historical sex matters including an indecent assault on a male between January 1, 1979, and June 30 of the same year.
Mr Johnson was transported to the Warrnambool police station on Thursday.
It is expected he will be moved on Friday and appear in Shepparton court on Monday.
