Maher was disappointed with the wide barrier draw in the feature 1600-metre race.
“I will tell Luke to travel wide and try and find some cover in the run,” he said.
“The Toorak is always a tough race to win. Akavoroun has been going well in the campaign.
“He resumed with a slashing run at Flemington before getting lost at Rosehill. His work since Rosehill has been very good.”
Maher’s Bon Aurum ($1 million Caulfield Guineas) and Jameka ($500,000 Thousand Guineas) will run too.
