The Cressy woman has declared she will run as a Country Party candidate at the upcoming Polwarth by-election, one of eight contenders in the race to replace retiring Liberal MP Terry Mulder.
Ms Cass works on a dairy farm near Cressy while also juggling work at a Colac supermarket and Beeac Milk Bar.
“House prices were the original reason I left Melbourne but it din’t take me long to see why living in the country is so refreshing,” she said.
“The reason I joined the Country Party is because I can see so many opportunities for our area that could be better addressed if we had someone not tied to a city-based party.”
