Jordan Lewis has again put the family name up in lights with another AFL premiership medal now in his kit bag. While Lewis and his Hawks triumphed at footy’s highest level, back in his home town the Lewis name has also had a prominent 2015.
Jordan’s first cousin, Darcy Lewis, led Dennington to the Warrnambool and District league premiership, the clubs first since his father Geoff achieved the same feat in 1988. Jordan’s father Shane was also part of that 1988 victory. The Dogs 2015 triumph featured in the AFL grand final record, the article coming with a picture of Geoff and Darcy.
“Any premiership is fantastic, Dennington hadn’t won one for 27 years so it was great,” Jordan Lewis said.
“To open the record and see Booffa (Geoff) and Darc and see the joy you get out of winning one, you take a bit of that and try and create your own piece of history.”
