VICTORIA Country remains on the back foot at Cricket Australia under 17 boys’ championships in Brisbane. A three-wicket defeat to South Australia on Friday left the side, which features Russells Creek’s Liam Brown and Mortlake’s Lachlan Wareham, with a 1-3 record. Brown made 21 while Wareham notched 19 and took 1-6 as the Vics failed to defend 9-187. Their campaign continues with their final preliminary match against NSW Metro on Sunday.
