REGISTRATIONS are set to pour in for the Warrnambool Relay for Life following a successful launch.
So far about 28 teams have registered for the February event.
The launch on Friday night at the Whalers Hotel coincided with Totally Barking Vintage winning the Paint the Town Purple award.
It’s the first time the competition has been held and 38 businesses from Warrnambool, Koroit and Port Fairy entered.
Warrnambool Relay for Life chairwoman Fran Hynes said the competition was a way for businesses to show their support for the charity event.
Warrnambool team Bec’s Bosom Buddies won the Taj Mahal tent award and will receive a special tent at the relay set up by the organisers.
Mrs Hynes said the launch was a chance to encourage others to register.
Next year will be the Warrnambool Relay for Life’s 11th and to date $1.3 million has been raised.
Next year’s Relay for Life is on February 8 and 9. To register visit www.relayforlife.org.au or contact the cancer council.
