The creative forward suffered a serious facial injury against Cobden in round 15, putting his season – and premiership aspirations – in doubt.
Couch, 20, had two plates and four screws inserted into his fractured eye socket.
But he’s recovered in time to play a role in the Saints’ September campaign.
Couch will line-up against his former Warrnambool teammates in the grand final at Reid Oval on Saturday.
The Melbourne-based aspiring actor has kicked 36 goals, working in tandem with Sam Dobson, Michael Darmody and Chris McLaren.
“I am not a great marker and love to crumb,” he said.
“Sam is the best lead-up forward in the league and Chris is one of the best tacklers in the forward line.
“Those blokes aren’t the yappiest blokes. I like to give the forward line a bit of spice.”
