Murphy held out Julian Claridge for the Lions’ top honour after a prolific first season back at Walter Oval.
He booted 81 goals in a side which finished seventh, a game and percentage out of Warrnambool and District league finals. Harry Ponting and Jake Bacon tied for third.
Hannah Oates was the Lions’ A grade netball best and fairest. The first-season recruit finished ahead of midcourt teammate Lisa Pender.
Meanwhile, South Rovers are searching for a new A grade coach after Bree Wastell stepped down.
“We’ve got a few people in our sights but when the Hampden league is still going you’ve to let the water settle a little bit,” Wastell said.
