Storm, which finished the season with 10 wins and two draws, lost to Strikers in the second semi-final on Saturday, 2-0.
The defeat has relegated them to a preliminary final against Technique, which drew with Pirates 3-3 in the first semi-final also on Saturday but progressed courtesy of finishing higher on the ladder.
Senior women’s minor premier Subbies also benefited from their ladder position after drawing 0-0 with Strikers in the second semi-final on Friday. The result earned them the first berth in the decider.
The first semi-final on Saturday went the way of Saints, who thrashed Technique 6-0. Saints will meet Strikers in the preliminary final.
Meanwhile, Buccaneers will meet Strikers in the under 17s preliminary final after experiencing contrasting semi-final results.
Buccaneers lost 1-0 to Pirates – which are through to the grand final – while Strikers defeated Storm 2-1.
The preliminary finals are at Albert Park on Saturday, at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
