The Bloods are in a logjam for a Hampden A grade finals spot with one round remaining.
They recorded a 36-25 win against the Blues, elevating them to fifth place – two points adrift of North Warrnambool Eagles, Camperdown and South Warrnambool.
Terang Mortlake coach Aimee Arundell said everything pointed to an exciting round 18.
“We are hoping if Koroit wins (against Camperdown) and that we get the win (against Port Fairy) that we are still a chance to get third spot,” she said.
Arundell said the Bloods produced a workmanlike effort against the Blues, who are locked in a battle with Cobden to avoid the wooden spoon.
“It was a fairly scrappy,” she said.
“Warrnambool was good at putting pressure on us.”
