SOUTH-WEST runners will step up the distance this weekend as preparations continue for next month’s Koroit-to-Warrnambool half-marathon. Round nine of the Warrnambool Athletics Club winter season is a 10-kilometre handicap starting at Jetty Flat on Saturday at 3pm. The distance is the longest of the club season to date and gives runners planning to contest the September 13 half-marathon an opportunity to test their fitness in a competitive environment.
