ROCK ‘N’ ROLL DANCE: Warrnambool Rock ‘N’ Rollers club will host a dance on Saturday night, with Melbourne band Robyn and the Rancheros. The dance starts at 8pm at the City Memorial Bowls Club.

FOOTBALL AND NETBALL: The battle for Warrnambool and District league finals spots ends on Saturday with round 18. The pick of the action is at Allansford Recreation Reserve, where the resurgent Cats take on reigning premier Merrivale, while Nirranda needs to beat South Rovers at Nirranda Recreation Reserve to have any chance of holding onto fifth spot. The Hampden league has also thrown up an intriguing fixture, with Warrnambool travelling to Gardens Oval to take on high-flying Port Fairy.
CYCLING: The Tour of the Great South Coast continues in the region this weekend. Cycling fans can head to Koroit on Saturday for a criterium around the historic township at 11am or line the roads from Koroit to Peterborough for road race action from 1.30pm. Port Fairy hosts the tour finale on Sunday, a criterium using a waterfront circuit from 12.30pm.
CROCHET WORKSHOP: Knit one stitch and purl another at the Artery’s crochet workshop on Saturday. South-west crochet artist Shelley Husband is hosting a crochet for beginners session from 10am.
KINDER OPEN DAY: The Warrnambool three-year-old kindergarten, at 10 Panorama Avenue, will open its doors between 10am and noon. Information relating to session times and fee structure will be available.
DANCING: Join old-time and Scottish dancing every Saturday at the Anglican church hall in Koroit Street, Warrnambool from 8pm. Supper provided.
SUNDAY
FOOTY FUNDRAISER: The Leila Rose All Stars Game hits Friendly Societies Park in Warrnabool on Sunday. Gates open at 11.30am and teams take the ground at 1pm ahead of the first bounce at 1.30pm. Legends Mick Malthouse and Jordan Lewis will coach the teams of Warrnambool personalities. Awards presented at 5pm and after match entertainment from 6pm. Children’s activities, auctions and raffles. The event supports the Leila Rose Foundation and its work to help children and families fighting rare childhood cancers.
MINIATURE RAILWAY: Cobden Miniature Railway, canteen, children’s playground, barbecue facilities and mini golf will be open from 11am to 4pm. The park, in Grayland Street, is open on the third Sunday of every month and Sundays during school holidays.
CHILDREN’S ENTERTAINMENT: Warrnambool Brick Club is a social club where children and families can play and share with Lego. The club meets on the third Sunday of every month between 10am and 11.30am and in the afternoon between 1pm and 2.30pm at the Anglican Parish Hall, 230 Koroit Street, Warrnambool. Gold coin donation.
WEEKLY MARKET: About 70 stalls offering a range of items from second-hand goods to food and clothing at Warrnambool Showgrounds in Koroit Street. Market runs every Sunday between 8am and 1pm.
