The Koroit teenager was selected in the elite mentoring program for a second year despite a serious foot injury limiting his impact for North Ballarat Rebels.
“I was pretty worried about it because I missed five months with injury,” he said.
“It was a relief and privilege to get into it.”
Korewha will learn from AFL greats Glen Jakovich, Matthew Lloyd, Chris Johnson and Lenny Hayes. Former Adelaide mentor Brenton Sanderson is the academy coach.
“We are around pretty experienced people, so it’s pretty awesome,” Korewha said.
Korewha, 17, has impressed in his five games for the ladder-leading Rebels since returning from injury.

“I am still pretty raw but I have put on a bit of weight since the end of last year,” Korewha said.
The St Patrick’s College student wants to take his TAC Cup form into the Herald Sun Shield grand final on Saturday. St Pat’s will play Essendon Keilor College in the decider at Port Melbourne.
The game is usually played at the MCG.
“It will be a good challenge to see what they are like, I have never played them before,” he said.
“Last week (against St Joseph’s College) we were tested a bit but came out on top.”
