Greater Western Sydney has received a suspended $2,500 fine after coach Leon Cameron twice approached the emergency umpire during last Sunday's loss to Fremantle at Subiaco Oval.

AFL football operations manager Mark Evans said the sanction was imposed after a report was submitted by the matchday umpires.
"The AFL's view is that the umpires should not be approached at any time by any club official during the course of the game but (we) took into account the fact that Mr Cameron had proactively contacted the AFL umpiring department to apologise for his actions, before the AFL had sought to follow up the matter, as well as the fact this was his first offence under the rules," Evans said in a statement.
The fine was suspended and would be activated if there was a further breach by former South Warrnambool footballer Cameron or the Giants.
Speaking after the match, Cameron said he was frustrated with a couple of decisions that went against the Giants in the 21-point loss and he wanted to clarify them with the umpires.
