A cast and crew of about 60 students are staging a production of Little Shop Of Horrors, with nightly performances on Wednesday Thursday and Friday.
The story, which began life as a 1960 Roger Corman B-movie before becoming an off-Broadway stage musical and a 1986 movie starring Rick Moranis, tells of a down-on-his-luck florist and a man-eating plant.
Director Aradie Walters said puppeteering a giant carnivorous plant added an extra degree of difficulty to the production.
“This monstrous (puppet) takes up half the stage – it’s really exciting,” she said.
“It looks really good when it’s right.”
