The WDFNL’s 12-team competition means the 18-round draw is uneven each season and the potential exists for a tough run home denying a worthy side the chance to play finals.
That was a possibility to happen this season, with Old Collegians – who have arguably the toughest draw in the league – facing the prospect of missing finals. But South Rovers’ loss to Panmure on Saturday has all but confirmed the Warriors will hold onto fifth spot.
