Crawley’s Milk Bar owner Kerrie Crawley said yesterday the verandah was half hanging off and power cables were left exposed by the accident.
“We’ll be out of business for awhile. We won’t be open tomorrow and maybe Tuesday,” she said.
She said she had contacted insurance assessors who would arrive tomorrow and the business would reopen when the verandah was made safe.
“No one was hurt, that was the main thing,” she said.
“One of the young workers was here and she got a terrible fright.
“It’s a bit of excitement in the town.”
It was the second time the shop had been damaged by a truck accident.
Ms Crawley said that about 10 years ago a trailer snapped off a truck and hit the corner of the building after just missing a car parked out the front of the shop which was full of children.
